Ok, so I have a theory, and stick with me now, I think that the girl in the book that ends up with tall dark haired dude (I’m sorry I cannot remember names of any kind) is actually our MC here. The book has just genderswapped it, because if you look at it closely the girl kind of looks like him. Also because I really want them to end up together and I cannot have this ship screwed up.

But the thing is in the book there is him (MC) he is like a side character. I would go with that theory of yours IF he wasnt mentioned in the book but he is. My theory is that the fact that he learns about the future from the book will somehow change the future like if the real purpose of the book is not telling him about a possible future but to get them together or something. If it was only genderswap he wouldnt be mentioned in the book at all.
