That said, i'm back to rereading this after a long while, and getting myself that feeling of wanting to throw up whenever I see haruki so broken and given up on life. One of the most emotionally painful raep scenes ever.
I agree the plot/ending could have been better explored, but i think the feelings of the characters were portrayed very well.
I dont think character development must always be a positive one. I'm glad some readers picked out "victim blaming". Remember whenever you criticise Haruki for being "a weak man", that's victim blaming. Imagine yourself being in his role.
