i think mc gets his karma in his own way. like he never got to become a full fledged baseball player rendering him “useless”, slaves away working corporate, his boss hates him, he has enemies everywhere, kinda self aware about how messed up he’s been as a kid, constantly smokes & drinks to numb the pain, gets threatening letters piling up in his mailbox, gets beat up by said stalker (teammate from past) until hospitalization so yeah idk personally i feel bad for him. especially since he helped ml (who got picked on) a lot during his days on the team too

I'm not saying the leads for every work need to be likeable or whatever, but both mc and ml here don't really have anything that makes them worth being emotionally invested in, except for the fact that they're drawn conventionally attractive maybe. They're both assholes who look down on others with little to no self-reflection or willingness to change. This manhwa is more for their "toxic situationship" than anything, good if you like that kind of stuff.

MC pretty blatantly only looks out for ML in highschool (while still bullying his other team members mind you) because he thought he had potential for their team, so I don't see it as anything that elicits points for him.

And frankly, he has enemies and no allies because he is an asshole and doesn't own up to it, it's not deep.

I don’t really see him as a bully, considering the teammate reaction, I mean sure he’s hot headed and pretty rough w/ words when he’s young but if he was just mean-spirited and you know physically abusive the the teammate wouldn’t look so happy playing w/ him(eg. No coach day) nor would they hesitate to isolate him like what they did to the seme, (considering how insecure the teammate were to act out like that cuz seme insulted their skills) in fact they were trying to include uke as well on the plan since they consider him one of them, often calling him to break up fight, arguments or telling him about matter the team were facing(in this case the new member) he act as someone who keep them in check, eg the rumour regarding seme past,when one of the teammate spread it to the whole team to turn against him, he immediately scolded and punished him abt it. He also is more of a coach to them than the actual one, else they wouldn’t relied on him nor listen to him.

From the start, it shows that mc is aware the team is garbage,I don’t think the mc helped the seme just because of the team’s potential, he is passionate abt baseball and value teamwork, though he didn’t have to go out of his way to hang out w/ him so seme doesn’t feel isolated or stay up all night and write notes to help him get along w/ the teammates, nor make a teammate understand to show seme compassion when he admit that he doesn’t understand seme either(esp since seme was a prick lol) he was aware he wouldn’t make it out as a baseball player in the future so all that effort isn’t even necessary. honestly I don’t know where you stop reading but as it goes on it apparent that uke isn’t as bad as the author deliberately making him out to be at first, it’s intentional to make him sound unreasonable and a selfish. (Also don’t take his bestie words abt him as fact, he clearly doesn’t have good intentions abt him lol)You’ll notice He does feel bad and is more self-aware and caring than you realise.He is human. He’s flawed but definitely a bit of a prick lol. Though it looked like his older self mature a bit more, his younger self would immediately fight his boss and wouldn’t have lasted long and he is also more socially friendly

Don’t know abt mr seme though, we don’t really see how the older him act around people he don’t have a grudge against, his part time worker is pretty friendly w/ him but idk, looked like he mellowed out but uke is bringing the worst of him. His younger self seem more complicated (unrelated but he reminds me of Ivan from alsnt w/ how he steal people shit and how’s he pretty unreadable in uke pov ) the only thing we know that he lies as a way to not share personal information and giving people what they want to hear. It’s hinted that he has a complicated family background ( idk abt the present but in the past his ‘mother’? seem supportive of him and his father doesn’t want him to play baseball) he fought someone at his own school (whether justified or not is unknown) and he hates uke (though it seem like a misunderstanding since uke see him as the one who start fight but it’s clearly that one bald dude that started it)

But yeah, really unclear abt his character, (present)he is an asshole but so far just to uke who he has a grudge against and the one who did him wrong(look likes bald guy started antagonising him first + the team isolated him) though younger him quickly got along after they were accepting of him so imo I don’t think he’s ‘unwilling to change’ or has ‘no self reflection’ considering he did take time to understand the teammate weaknesses and didn’t hold a grudge against them after they’re friendly towards him despite them literally bullying him and filling his locker with milk and leaving insult notes

Came back to take back the note about his bestie, I read that panel wrong about him, you can just ignore that but other than that yep
