And that’s exactly why I don’t get it. Didn’t he grow up the same way Dan did? Then why was he acting so shocked when he saw Dan’s apartment and his whole situation? So why the hell was he suddenly so surprised in that one chapter, talking about “malnourishment in the 21st century” like it was some unheard-of tragedy? Bro, you lived through the same thing. Honestly, it just makes me think he hasn’t evolved at all from his own messed-up past. He’s been through a lot, yeah—but he still turned out to be lame with nothing interesting beneath the surface.
