I think their comment was pretty civil. And why they're reading - they've already said - out of curiosity. And it's not like they said they can't understand why *others* like or feel the manhwa, it's just themselves not feeling it (and probably posting to show some others who feel the same that they're not alone). Let's not discourage polite critiques in the comments, it's more on the rare side.

Haha, np! And I can promise you definitely didn't come off as discouraging at all (if they were on the fence, it was a coin toss to whether they'd actually read this or not). This site is riddled with emotion filled drama, to crazy levels. While subjectivity is a nice breathe of air, don't be afraid to let yourself go when you feel strongly about something, I think it's the point of sites like these (it only cross the boundaries when we start actively attacking people) (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

i started my reply with "fair enough", cause their comment is fair, i was just stating that a lot of people share this sentiment of tying the series down to it's earlier chapters and so it becomes questionable when they complain about the same first 20 chapters while they're now on chapter 100+ (i wouldve responded like this to anyone still talking about those first few chapters)

The first 20 chapters are actually the most important because they give the pace of the story. It seems you took my comment as judgmental or hypocritical for continuing to read, but that feels like a defensive interpretation. Sexual violence is no joke (I’m a survivor of sexual molestation), so I believe expressing discomfort with such a theme is a valid form of critical engagement.

Just to clarify, I’m not triggered—I’m healing and in a healthy place. I consume a wide range of stories, including those with different forms of violence, but that doesn’t make scenes like this any less disturbing or worth discussing.

As for why I’m still reading: the art is gorgeous, and yes, I’m genuinely curious—particularly about Mokhwa’s emotional development. He’s trying to understand what it means to love and be loved, something he’s unfamiliar with. His actions are largely driven by loyalty, and in chapter 91 he says, “I’m not good with words or feelings, but you’re not nothing to me. That much I can say.” These feelings are new to him, and he’s navigating them blindly—especially since they involve someone who once hurt him. I find that journey compelling and worth following.
I’d add that the first chapters are actually the most important—they set the tone and pace for the entire story. So if something that early on feels disturbing or off-putting, it naturally shapes how a reader engages with the rest of the narrative.

I just want to emphasise that this is purely my personal view, including what I said about the first chapters being the most important (I’m sorry, I just can’t wipe them from my memory lol).
