I’ve said this before and this chapter just reaffirms this for me. Without excusing any of his past and even present behaviour, JK is really just a kid that had to grow up too fast, has been on survival mode all his life, is TERRIFIED of being poor again and has never had a close connection to anyone, because why would anyone love him when his own parents didn’t? The boy is now only just learning how to process his emotions.
All that aside though things are going a bit too smooth too quickly. Lol I’m still waiting for the part where JK has to work hard for Dan to be with him. I was predicting that JK might confess his feelings but Dan would not believe that JK actually likes him and would turn him down. Then JK would have to grovel etc etc.
