I am a notorious fan of Yaoi. I might be selfish about my seme/uke preference, I would blame my harsh life for this. I absolutely adore megane ukes for their tsundere and smartness. I absolutely loath megane semes for their sadistic and irritating behaviour. As a yaoi fan who have read yaoi since 2012, I can say these are the characteristics in every manga. (sigh)

What is the difference between protagonist and main character tho? Aren't main character the protagonist of the stories? Genuinely curious.

So the Main Character is the central character in the Main Character Throughline while the Protagonist is the central character in the Objective Story Throughline. They can, and often are, the same character but they don't necessarily have to be. (=・ω・=)
