the past chapters made nagi some sort of a pathetic loser (wc he really is). i think that him going to the old man, betraying blue lock in the process, makes sense. what ego wanted is for japan to win all competition and honestly, having someone like nagi in his 100% with his new dreams/goals will be very much needed for it later on. that is if he proves his worth
