The premise was nice. How horrible parenting reflects on their child, how lack of responsibility will become the shackles that keeps their children from ever moving forward, how the cycle of abuse ripples and become an echo chamber. I’m guessing Takopi was like a representative of these children’s innocence, he’s naive and happy-go-lucky but still was willing to help and do right, plus he’s also a child. Naoki said it best tho, he’s fckng stupid.
Takopi’s original sin was not targeting the parents who was the cause of the problem in the first place (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
It still doesn’t sit right with me how easily Marina and Shizuka easily got along, but then I realized It wasn’t that easy cause I literally just read the whole thing TT BUT you can’t tell me all that aggression towards Shizuka just poofed?? I’m pretty sure you met Takopi YEARS after her attempt and for some reason you remember bits of him before??? I don’t think it works that way pookie Shizuka stronger than me tho, wdym you dont have pent up rage towards YOUR bully? Didn’t you want her dead like a few chapters ago? She didn’t even say sorry nor did we get a redemption arc from her.
but nonetheless, this was not a bad read, a bit overhyped but considering the themes it covers it still deserve the hype. I do wish we get to see the finer details like, what did Shizuka do in tokyo, Takopi’s home planet and their rules, Marina’s redemption arc, etc. but I also get that it’s a short story so it needs to be straight forward yada yada but….the potential tho, but at the same time it’s better that it’s a short story because it’s basically just Parents being shtty and their children being collateral damaged but still…the potential…
Why is this actually so cute the title was a nice touch too cause this would’ve rotted in my waiting list, author really said press y to confuse, the translators did a great job too!

You put my exact thoughts into words really well! A decent story, but messy execution with an uneven input and reward
