basically, the modern day version of yeon and kihoon is a reincarnation of them from a dynasty a long time ago. When yeon was a child in that dynasty, he essentially rewrote destiny by tying the string around kihoon. This is 100% possible (according to the note that yeon found in that file storage room when he revisited the rock) HOWEVER. there exists certain people in the world who are not supposed to have soulmates (the red blazing soul). If they do it’ll be detrimental to them bc all sorts of misfortune can seep through the gap in their soul but when their soul is complete, they should be encountering all types of luck (which indicates that kihoon is the red blazing soul because the universe gives him all lucky traits— his birthday for example, but has been unlucky absolutely all his life)
Also, going back to the note that yeon found in the storage room, i have a feeling that it was written by the child version of either yeon or kihoon in that dynasty.
there is a gap in kihoons soul now because he basically was forced to be the soulmate of yeon due to the latter tying the string to him when they were children in the dynasty lifetime
