Shadow-Monarch's Things

It's a hunterverse that involves an office worker who is nationally known as the guy who has the worst and best luck due to the amount of hunter and moster based incidents he's been involved in and survived. An example is him being taken hostage by illegal hunters who take over his office space. He remains totally calm, since he's been there, done that. A hunter then comes to his aid, and recognizes him from the news that publicized his story, and shows intrest in him. I've been looking for it for days now, but to no avail. Please help me.
