Surely, that man is trash. He should know from the start that she no longer sing because she's not happy with him. Yet, he selfishly dragged her down, forcing her with him until she's nothing of who she was. It wasn't love. He's not making her shine, just making her crumble pieces by pieces. Personally? I love this type of story. Nice to read. It makes my heart ache from adrenaline.
