The tapes are like memories in the game, and the cassettes are like the save points. When the tapes are inside the cassettes and playing, the players can remember everything that happened in the game—even after restarting when they die.
In the story, there were five players. At first, all of them were playing and saving their progress through their cassettes. But after repeatedly dying, the first two decided to stop playing their tapes, which turned them into NPCs. That left Doha, the guy with glasses, and Taekyung still playing.
After some time, however, Taekyung also grew tired of dying over and over, so he too stopped playing his tapes. Now, only Doha and the guy with glasses remained. The guy with glasses didn’t want to work hard, so he was always the one to die first in the group, while Doha was usually the last one to stay close to Bada.
But as the game neared its end, the guy with glasses grew afraid that only one player would make it out. Out of fear, he decided to remove Doha’s tape from the cassette player.
