We got arranged marriage between 2 kingdoms, royal succession drama and a love story laced with angst!! And it's a BL!! ><
I am looking for recommendations about BL manhwa/manga/manhua that are focused more on the plot and the characters and don't have smut coming up every few panels...Nowadays most BL have become porn, with plot as the side dish and it's hard to find good shounen Ai or Yaoi with substance...
Btw I would like it if they are complete or near completion and not still ongoing if possible.
Some of my fave reads of the kind are Semantic Error, A shoulder to cry on, The Most Ordinary Relationship, Love tractor, Unintentional love story, Aien Catharsis, Wind Blowing Tonight,Indulged in Your Light etc.
I don't mind darker psychological plots either like the beast must die or Minority but it must have a happy ending!

YES IT IS AHHHHHH OKAY it’s about clans and each heir has a guardian. Lau (mc) is a guardian and has a complicated relationship with his master but one day, a huge tattoo started forming in the back of his masters back and the whole plot is them discovering who put the curse on and what is truly going on. It’s a mystery and action bl manhwa. Personally I think it’s really well written even the female characters, which is very rare and BL they actually have a purpose and have motives. Also the art style is gorgeous.

I am looking for a 90s style drawn shoujo/josei Yakuza manga! I read it years ago and I can't seem to find it on my list anymore... The manga opened with the ML getting stabbed from the enemy gang and the GL finding him on the street and treating him and hiding him until he is better! After that they go through many ups and down in their relationship, she even gets kidnapped and almost hurt by the enemy gang whose leader has also taken a liking to her (or more accuratelly wants to torment ML using her) before ML saves her...She had long fluffy blond hair in the cover while ML had dark hair!! I also remember the ending which was their wedding and the ML dying after getting shot after they end the ceremony and dying leaving her alone in the end (which left quite a big impression on me...)

So much happened that left me completely stunned in this chapter...
I genuinely didn’t expect Yeonwu to be so affected by the drug that he’d literally pull it out like that! I got a jump scare just like Rosa did lmao
Another thing that really stood out to me is how insignificant Yeonwu clearly is to the mother. Today’s chapter basically confirmed that she doesn’t care for him deeply at all, she seems to view him as nothing more than her personal boytoy. She literally forgot about his whole ass existence, let him attend a drug-filled party with zero warning…but then why bring him into her home, disrupt her child’s peace and even propose marriage? None of it adds up unless there is more to her plans??
And Yeonwu’s past at the host club? It definitely wasn’t smooth sailing. The mother also seems tightly connected to the club based on that flashback so maybe she even owns part of it or is considered one of the estimate SVIP clients...Considering Yeonwu came from the orphanage she sponsors...I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a whole system where young orphan adults who are unemployed or people like Yeonwu who have debt get funneled into the host club for “easy money”.
Also Yeonwu clearly carries trauma from that time in his life! We saw it even in the previous chapter with the gardener his flinching, his grimacing plus here with the words he was saying to Rosa…And despite Yeonwu viewing the mother as his “saviour” who eventually got him out, she still feels like an abuser of power to me. Nothing about her treatment of him reads as love. And I doubt he truly loves her either it feels more like a mix of gratitude and his longing for familial affection that he’s mistaken for romantic attachment.
I also loved the author’s symbolism with both Yeonwu’s and the mother’s necklaces breaking at the same time right before he starts making out with Rosa.
Honestly, the further the story goes, the more sorry I feel for Yeonwu and even more for Rosa. As for the mother she becomes more vile with each chapter. The things she’s done to both Rosa and Yeonwu so far in these chapters make my blood boil.
