I'm trying to understand why some ppl getting annoyed lol cause i feel like this is the kind of comedy manhwa that you don't need to take thing seriously, i mean LOOK AT THE ART BRUUUH THAT'S A LOT OF MEME REFERENCES I read some mangas like this before for comedic purpose and stress relief cause the meme references or when they use the characters as personification, etc it's just funny lol (like inserting Sunwoo's face as Themis Goddess, i found that entertaining haha)
And i can tell the artists have a looot of fun when drawing it, i can tell lol (similiar to "love revolution" where you can spot some meme or pop culture references and inside jokes of the fandom, etc)
And one thing i also like about this one, same as "love revolution" manhwa, you're not always focusing on the characters' when they talked but the background characters too like "what are we doing here?" Everytime the artists put that kinda panel, that make me giggle lol (like the background characters behind the toilet stall in this chapter lol)
Tbh this is what i always imagined (as a readers) when i read some manhwa (with more serious tone ofc not comedy one) when they had a fight or sharing confidential informations in the public bathroom lol like... You sure there's no one behind the stall?!

Maybe the reason Dan's way of living irked him so much like annoyed the shit out of him is not because he's a rich spoiled kid (like what i thought before) but it's because looking at Dan make him remember of how he used to live in the same environment as Dan (being poor and born without privilege) especially Dan is not the type to put on a "fight" with someone, Dan and Jaekyung have a different approach of how to cope.
The reason why when he saw Dan way living and how he become alcoholic just gave him a war flashback of how he used to live in similiar environment or condition... Jaekyung's environment before is full of people being violent, alcoholic, junkies, no wonder seeing Dan's depressive episode when he fall into become alcoholic somehow make him feel angry cause he just doesn't know how to express his emotions.
Children who grow up in such an environment always have complex emotions, but somehow their feelings are only anger and rage, like sometimes they don't even know or can't explain why they full of anger... (Kinda SPOILER a bit but somehow when i wrote this topic abt "how a kid can be full of anger" it makes me remember about Kotoha's past from the manga wind breaker )

Y'all what if shun is actually older than yuudai tho maybe by 4 years or so? They thought they're "same-age" friends but shun is actually from the past so there's a probability like in the series called "zetsuen no tempest", one of the character is so desperate to find help. She sent her magic doll (that look like a voodoo doll) that she put in a bottle, in hope it reach the land so she can communicate with a person. Her "desperation" come across the concept of time and sent the doll to the future, meanwhile she doesn't even know that she already dead (but yeah they found a way to bring her back in current timeline/the future)
In this case i think it's actually shun and yuudai desperation to find friends or "love" that make them "bend" the concept of time and find each other, like yuudai is a lonely kid maybe shun is the same too.
It's actually interesting why the mangaka put the "summer" as the time of the manga cause:
1. You know summer in Japan is identically associate with ghost or supernatural story. They even have "hyakumonogatari kaidankai", that said "if you blow the candle after the 100th story then something will happen", they said you need to "cool down" the summer heat by telling ghost story (cause u know how the air dropped low when ghost appeared yadayada). So i understand why the mangaka want us to think about "is shun a ghost?" Based on the summer theme alone.
2. THE TOKYO 2020 SUMMER OLYMPIC is actually genius. Cause u got the "eureka" moment as to why the mangaka made this manga with "summer holiday" vibe as the theme.
