Tbf the younger sister was given no context on how or why the MC supposedly killed their mom. All she knows is that everyone seemed to hate her, and for the longest time, didn't know why. Then got told at a random tea party that the reason why was cause the MC is apparently a mom murderer. To which our homegirl didnt try to defend herself, I know she was stunned, but like that does not help her case in the slightest. So, for me personally, if the lil sis genuinely apologizes I could stomach the idea of the MC and her talking.
I don't think what they have is unsalvageable. I won't feel some type of way if the MC chose not to. Its within her right and completely valid if she doesn't. I just think that their foundation isn't ruined and they could rebuild. The rest of the family though? Full of tweakers. Jade may be nicer but hes still a fuckin dick and the older is missing all critical thinking skills. Don't even get me started on the dad.
I could see it now. Jade self-reflects and regrets his actions and tries to apologize then gets denied. Probably feels like the MC is required to start over with him just cause HE wants a second chance. Older brother is probably even more entitled to whatever shenanigans he decides to get up to, and the father? Thay old, dastardly, man will continue to feel like the MC owes him. The only regret the old tweaker might feel is not trying harder to pretend liking her to get what he wanted.
I know these kinds of author's never have a sibling properly rekindle a relationship because everyone in their eyes is the same level of plot device, or if they do somehow reconcile, its cause the MC is just a fish brained door mat. I would just find it more interesting if the little sister makes a real attempt, respects boundaries, proves herself and they start over later.
