One of the best read I had in the past few years, really.
Where should I start? The art. The drawing of the first part of the story specially, reminds me the style of traditional paintings, like the ones we see in korean and japanese paintings of the past. That already is mesmerizing. It´s like you can see the brushstroke? Unique!
Regarding the story, it starts as a period piece that leads to a more modern story, the later being a consecuense and continuation of what we were shown in the beginning. Romance, drama, horror, action, all so well delivered. The characters are beautiful with defined personalities. And they made such human, moving gestures. Captivating.
There are several couples (just love that), and while somethimes you don´t see a clear conclusion of some of the stories, or it seems that the side stories are interrupted (the emperor and the shaman/messenger, for example), that doensn´t stop this work to be excellent. Just little miscalculations that demostrate how great this manhwa is.
When I ended reading this story. I thought: "Well, this is evocative, it has a soul".

But to me it was really disappointing. One dimensional characters with no chemistry that fell in this dinamic where the ML is the cool guy (always with his hands in the pockets or smoking, like the real cool guys do XD) who always save the MC. And talking about the later, I think the author probably tried to showed us a MC with a strong personality, but it just resumes in some angry gestures and nothing else.
Finally, the story is shallow and the dialogues fell really short, in an atttemp to look edgy.
Y really had high expectations!! But well, the art was nice.

The art is nice but for the story... well it started out good but while developing it, it's just fells like the author didn't take the story seriously.
Towards the end for example, there were ...zombies? But they actually were people with leper: why did you decide to make It look like that?
Or just the random, non-important-for the-story people abusing the MC?
The story is loose. The MC said at the beginning that he became a eunuch to have control of his body and not to be abused anymore, showing his determination and strenght.... And from then on its just about him being abused repeatedly many times for many people!! And nothing else! Just why?
Also one of the worst things that can happen: the lost of characterization. The ML, he has has a good redemption arc, but it's like he became an entire different person. Or the brother's ML: wasn't his change to drastic?
But well, I read until the end so... It was bad but not the worst either. Read It for the shallow entertrainment.

This was surprisingly good. You often see in yaoi stories (and love stories in general) how the personalities of the characters change drastically, like they are devoted for eachother once they fall in love and forget about everything else. Well, here It does not happen!
For example, we know that both of the MCs love eachother, right? Of course it's going to happen. (MILD SPOILER) We realize that one of them has been in love with the other for a long time, but we find this much later because of the great characterization of the MC, like what he thinks about him, his purpose in life, his family, his past.
And this thoughtful way of developing the story is fantastic, the characters are funny, mature, stubborn too, everything!
As a comment said previously, the love part is a little bland, true. But well, we always see in these hate to love stories how the hate part sucks: they "hate" for three seconds and that's it, or they "hate" but we know that they "internally" are in love, althought they sometimes do terrible things to one another.
So yes, it's one of my favourite hate to love stories I have read in a long time. Se Yang did an extraordinary job!
(And don't make me start about the drawing of the characters, Geonyeong expressions are to die for!)
I was never so invested in basketball before! The comedy moments, so many great characters and The Great Tensai Hanamichi himself!
While the story is very simple, are the characters and the group dynamic of all the teams that make the difference. The match against Toyotama is a great example of how the personal relationships within the group affects the dynamic of the match. Just great
And that ending... Hanamichi what a great character he is!!
I particulary like those stories that look shallow at first glance but have their emotional and profound moments at the same time. All this as the author keeps the comedic peace.
Love it!
