I haven't watched it but from what i heard they did everyone wrong. They even changed kdj's backstory to him living with his single mother while taking care of him, replaced yjh with jung heewon.The theatre arc wasnt shown i heard so idk what happens to jihye's development also kdj is a bully(?) something there was a specific term for like (trouble in school something) so yeah this is the bit I can recall

I'm sorry what. THEY GOT RID OF YJH, YOU KNOW THE 'MAIN CHARACTER'?? I am so done. He was on the cover before so idk if they changed it but that sounds so bullshit but tbh I didn't expect much from a light action. Orv is already hard to adapt, especially for something that is not readable, but this is just ridiculous.

Also imagine getting rid of the main characters entire backstory.

I heard they turned KDJ into a bully. Apparently, he was a school bully and because of him a student died. I don't know if it's true, I haven't watched the movie.

Let me correct it. I got the real story from someone who watched the live action later. KDJ was bullied along with another kid. So, for some reason he killed that boy who was getting bullied with him. They totally turned his backstory upside down.

Gotta love when companies want to create an adaptation of YOUR story and then go and change the entire damn premise of said story to fit their shitty narratives. Feels like they didn't even wanna please the fan base or stay loyal to key story elements. They just saw the fame of an authors success, saw the profit and revenue it would bring to them and then decided to adapt it, knowing fans would watch it bad or good, then completely changed it to the liking of people who don't even know what it's a live action of. so they could just turn their brains off and watch it as is.

also I heard he apparently lives with his mother? And the backstory with his father got erased.. this makes no damn sense. This is one of those stories where leaving out something could completely fuck up the entire premise of the story and that's what they did. The author also told him to "write the ending himself" which completely ruins the future dynamics, importance, and key components to Kim Dokja. I am so mad at this bs

If you fuck up one of the three main characters, you ruin all of them combined. It was dead upon arrival sigh

Yeah I never have any hope for most adaptions. I love the raw material most in it's true-ist form, but I can still enjoy some adaptations that for the most part stay loyal to the plot however, even in the best live actions still make the smallest of changes which is fine but even then it can take away from certain elements or dynamics.

Changing an important line of dialogue from a story for example could completely change people's perspectives of a character or something else. Idk if I am explaining this well but yk

True what you've just said.... It's all about money and people who don't know the manhwa of novel/story will still watch it and love it and doesn't even bother to do research about it either and I think the author was like I'm done with this bullshit just do whatever you are you are doing it so don't ask my opinion either... Pore author it's like she doesn't have a say in it....

I know what you mean it's also like this with marvel characters they change it but it's still somehow makes sense with the comics but with manga or manhwa apparently they still change a lot or most series from books they still change it but sometimes it's good and sometimes I prefer to not meddle with it.. some manga's or books shouldn't get touched and I feel it with this story you can't not do a live action without the core elements of it like you said sad they still do it.. clearly they don't read the novel nor the manhwa's just for fame at least do some research about the actual story you want to make a movie about

The only live action I've ever liked was One Piece live action. Oda chose the actors himself and his opinion was taken at every step. I don't think the ORV live action director even talked to the author properly. The author even gifted them the novel, even the pocket watch. I suppose the director kept it as decoration not even reading a single page. If they aren't going to read it, donate them at least. They're are many who'll gladly lose their sleep to read the entire book.

ORV director had no intention of sticking with the plot. He just wanted to make quick money by casting famous celebrities with already strong fanbase. There's war going on in social media. Actor fanbase have been giving 10 stars in the movie reviews while the ORV fans and giving 1 star reviews. With posts and arguments flooding amongst both fanbase.

Korean directors are too egoistic. They don't want to hear others opinions and just want to do whatever they want. I'm not saying everyone's like that but most of the people have superiority complex in Korea.

The director said he used guns instead of swords to make it look more "realistic". I'm like, Dude! Are you kidding me? You want to make fantasy realistic? What's the point of using guns in ORV? Guns are useless in front of monsters it's not a zombie apocalypse for God's sake! Not to mention the constellations are historical figures. It doesn't make sense to use guns. I don't think they even mentioned anything about the constellations in the movie. And CGI is so bad! I heard there's even going to be 2nd and 3rd movie.

Sadly it is like this.... Unfortunately it happens like this with a lot more story's and some are good like one piece I didn't like it even if the author chooses them but in his head you can't fully re make them I mean it's cartoon lol
