Kurihara, a student aiming for art university, has special ability to see animals in humanoid form & can converse with them. Because of that, there's a bit of a distance between him & others. He goes to 'Hoshino Zoo' to sketch the animals and they often consult in him. Within the zoo grounds, there's a flame of love between a Parus major (great tit) and a small squirrel, fierce advance on the older lion from the younger lion, and sweet thoughts about the male zookeeper from an old penguin.
