So due to how his ruthless family is, Chase is not that well taught on these regards so he doesn't exactly question them. Even if he does question them he's also pretty gullible so he doesn't question it further when he gets an answer from Josh about it. Don't blame the poor dude, it's not his fault he's like this.
Also gotta include that after Chase gets a few clues about Josh's C-Section, he decides not to question or ask about it because prior to this, they got into a fight bc Chase got jealous and questions Josh's fidelity. Josh threatened to leave Chase without a word if Chase ever questioned him again. So Chase clammed up. Even if he had questions and wanted clarification, he's so scared of Josh leaving him, Chase turns a blind eye to everything.
