Ya'll giving Doomed Yaoi bad rep. Okaya 100% has some sort of twisted desire towards Nagare since he's the only one who stood up against him and even befriended him if the extra ch image is canon, but he literally tortured him! If anything it's toxic yaoi since all Nagare's pain was inflicted by him, but labeling it as plain ol "yaoi" is giving too much sympathies towards Okaya which is so insulting to our boi Nagare. Okaya doesn't deserve to touch Nagare even with a 10-foot pole!
the phrased doomed yaoi is less about yaoi and more about the doom imo, i think the reason ppl are saying it’s doomed yaoi is because the implications of what okaya says and why the story begins. ppl are calling it doomed yaoi bc the story honestly is inherently queer, it’s less ship and more observations i think
Not sure if it's here, but it's about two best friends (both girls). They were childhood friends that did everything the same as each other. Same hair, matching keychains, matching everything. Then, they started middle school (?) and MC didn't want to do it anymore. So, her "bestie" got angry and made the whole class turn against her. MC got new friends, but her "bestie" got them against her too (temporarily). Eventually, MC had a stable group of friends and they do fun stuff together, making the "bestie" jealous.
"Bestie"'s logic is, only she can be mc's friends and only she cares about mc. If MC does something which makes them not alike, then MC should be punished. She's crazy af and lowkey yandere for MC.
MC had a mop and short hair on the cover (her matching hair with "bestie" was long hair with bear-like buns).
There's also a classmate that MC kinda had a crush on, but "bestie" pretended to like him to get everyone to ship them together and make MC feel bad. MC doesn't really feel bad about it tho, since she's kinda friends with the boy. The boy's also one of her reasons to go against "bestie" in the first place, since talking with him made her realize that she didn't want to be a copy of her friend.
There's several expressing that the story also follows the cliche of dumbing down characters, especially the og fl, just to make mc seem like a genius. Based on what Remeia said on how the text on the paperwork make her head hurt, how reading Raiden's letter is hard and how she needs alot of time to write a simple letter, it seems like it's pointing towards a reading disability more than anything else. Since she's frequently compared to April and there's likely no knowledge on mental disabilities, everyone dictates that those difficulties make her dumb. While there's the issue with the seal, it's because April does all the work that she doesn't have the knowledge on official matters. The only thing that makes her dumb is mistreating others.
theyd probably address that later on too and then they'll start to get along like real sisters or smtg idek unless they go with the route of making her into a villain
