...I think that the ml didn't plan for those disgusting fckers to go 'that far' and hurt him so bad & he rather intended to 'just' scare him (because mc ignored him) by planning something so horrifying, and after he saw the mc in that horrible state and how he was severely traumatized, ml might've felt bad?
i think he wants to see the mc in pain but at the same time only he should be the one who inflicts those wounds.
my guess is that he wants the attention and love of the mc, only to feel superior because he himself has some kinda issues - typical narcissist psychopath man wtf, but yeah that's what I think
