Okay, ch 19 says that the first Regas that the King imprints on is killed as a prince and then they bring in substitutes that look exactly like the first Regas to encourage a fixation.
We also see that the King actually did like his first Regas to a certain extend- going as far as to call him a "false hope that was killed"
But the Duke and the King have the same fixation? They prefer the exact same figure and features in a Regas- which as I read is related to the initial regas.
Could it be that the Duke also knew the first Regas that raised the King? Is he also fixated on that image? Or is it solely fuelled by wanting to take away what belongs to the King?
Clearly other regas candidates exist, bc we saw that bear of a man sleeping with them in the castle. Why *this* fixation?
