The reason this story is going "so slowly" is because it's psychological as well! The mind games and trauma is being shown from multiple perspectives so the reader gets an even more sense of suspence when reading each new chapter. It's intentional. And it's invredibly well made.
If this were a normal romance, don't you think we would have seen a bit more color? Everytime there is more color on the pages, it matches with their mood and feelings...but most of it is dark and gray, why do you think?
Just let the story progress for a few months, then come back to it and maybe you'll have less to complain about.
