mb for this but I'm just fucking annoyed. i read this comment on TT saying BL is disgusting because it only has SA on it, I wouldn't mind if they said SOME BL (because its true, some does) but they were generalizing and making it seem like all BL is just about SA and the worse thing that pissed me off more was that this person is reading the works of bad thinking diary author, as if that's any better? then they go around saying GL and BG is okay but BL is disgusting, oh my gosh internet people pmo sm

    not gonna lie, the bl fandom do have a bad name for the longest time. I mean its the fault of popular manhwas and mangas like Jinx, low tide in twilight, and roses and champagne and stuff like that romanticizing S'A thats why people see bl in a bad light. But true though, many bl is good and i myself do enjoy the loving relationship bl type. But then, people see it from the general point and time and time again the bl genre keeps pumping out these "R-pe is hot" type media and its not helping. And its all prefrence really ^^ some like bl some dont, its best to not interact with them if you find yourself getting annoyed at their take (from a bl reader too)

    bro i feel ur rage. Personally, I don’t mind triggering contents like violence, gore or SA as long as it’s fictional and the characters are not real (and theres good chara development/redemption arc). Also, dark romance stories are meant to be read by adult readers only (and this genre is not exclusive for bls like bfr) and most ppl with this kind of take most of the time are either minors or puritans who want everything they read to be pure vanilla. Thats why for me, trigger warnings are always important so in case someone makes a complaint about something triggering, then thats on you. Why would you read smth that is clearly not ur cup of tea then proceeds to complain, acting as if you have high moral or smth. Im also curious what the heck are they even reading to generalize all bl stories as disgusting

    Finally someone said this I’ve been meaning to talk about this most people will read jinx and call it a day and say that’s how all BL is or they have never read it before and will just run with the idea that it’s just rape and SA it’s honestly mostly straight romance, readers people who strictly only read straight romance as if straight romance is pure and doesn’t have any problematic themes.     You can’t blame them though. I’m sure their frustration comes from being recommended a BL and BAM it has SA or rape in it. “Hmm, maybe I’ll try the popular ones,” nope, SA or rape. “Why the hell does the popular ones have rape?? Who is reading this??”

    Lowkey, if someone recommended me pearl boy and I saw the amount of reviews it had I would stay away from the BL community. Because why TF is that popular and a choice of recommendation.

    Literally, like.. the popular ones are either the ones with SA or rape.. or just straight violence. So naturally new artist will draw what appeals most/draws more attention. We as a community made it this way. If I wasn’t here when ever the BLs were good I would’ve said the same thing.

    i get where they're coming from although they shouldn't have generalized since some bls(especially shounen ai's has top tier art and plot) are actually good and doesn't contain rpe and sa at all. but i do get them because the popular one's like roses and champagne, jinx, potn, etc. has bunch of sa's in it and some fans find it hot/romanticize it. i actually hate the bl community most of the time ever since i had an argument with ppl who are defending a character that i will not be naming that is a literal abuser and rapist. their defense was the craziest shit ive ever heard, they said that "it wasn't rape since the uke moaned and liked it" i mean this is js my opinion tho. i js personally hate those bl fans who go on their way to defend an assaulter and doesn't recognize consented sex and rape bcs it honestly reflects on how they view assault cases irl

    Even though I do hate that people are generalizing it I do have to agree with everyone on here. The reason why it’s so generalized is bc people just keep popularizing rape yaoi slop. I do love BL, but I do absolutely despise the bl community and how they constantly romanticize abuse and if you call this out, they act like you just committed a hate crime for simply saying you shouldn’t romanticize rape even in fiction. If we actually started popularizing healthy consensual well written bls like our sunny days instead of jinx being the number one popular BL right now I don’t think people would have the perception of BL as they do now.

    you're so real for this, and i still cant believe how sa and stocklohm syndrome is so romanticized by the community like hello???(yes, im looking at you painter of the night/roses and champagne) and how they defend characs who are literal rapists js bcs theyre hot and the crazy thing is that their literal excuses for those rapist of a character actually invalidates those who are victims irl cause wdym they'd go as far as to say things like "he said no but he liked it", "it isn't raped bcs he moaned", "they had sex when one is sober and the other drunk, but it isnt rape cs the drunk one liked it", this is canon event btw ppl actually said this to me when i got into an argument over a bl that ill not be naming

    'Age of Arrogance'-- it's a pretty good story tho i felt the pacing to be kind of all over the place towards the middle.

    'Duchess in Ruins'-- pretty good story so far, loving the mc and the stuff going on

    'The one within the villainess' -- this is an Isekai, but the mc is the original person, the iskeaid person only has a short part so it kinda fits.

    'In the doghouse'-- this ones a smut also kind of involves bdsm stuff but it's pretty good
