Ok I empathize with him bc I act just like that with love&relationships granted I won't say what he said but he prob loved her so much he just couldn't understand it & show it in the right way. Then again he said he's not attracted to her but I'm guessing over time it changes??? His way of loving isn't the norm but they're just not compatible
