How to lock in?

I spend all day on tiktok reading fanfics or reading manhwa. I don't want to give up my love of fiction but I also have other things I want to do and I need to study. How to balance it out?

    Personally, I try to do a sort of reward system. I set myself goals to meet, such as reading a chapter of my textbook, finishing writing a paragraph, and completing a certain number of problems, etc. And after I meet each one, I let myself goof off as a reward for a set amount of time, so like getting to scroll for 10 mins, or getting to read a chapter of a manga or fic. Might not work for everybody, but it helped me a lot.

    It’s that feeling of “I don’t know what to do” that keeps you (and all of us) stuck in a cycle of addiction. I tried replacing my yaoi addiction with watching anime, but that didn’t really count as a healthy replacement either. For a while, I stopped thinking about fiction altogether, I was too busy socializing and working on projects.

    TL;DR When trying to break a habit, you need to find something equally satisfying to replace it with, something that gives you the same kind of fun or “dopamine” you’re used to.

    You can’t just cut it out instantly. Trust me, you have to gradually replace it with something else, then reduce it bit by bit. Eventually, you’ll forget about the old habit because you’ll already have other fun options to turn to instead of just reading fiction or scrolling through TikTok all the time.

    But I enjoy it i don't wanna stop i just wanna do it less and focus on stuff I have to do like studying

No good yuri/shoujo ai manhua/manhwa

Ive been trying to get into yuri lately but almost every single manhua/manhwa i read is kinda trash. THe art is either bad, or the plot is trash, or the plot isnt trash but the way its written is rushed.

Honestly the only good gl I've read have been mangas which sucks cause i like reading in color...

This probably is just a me thing probs just my taste but am i the only one who sees the difference in quality in gl manga and gl manhua?

Ive only read like 3 gl manhua/manhwa ive enjoyed.

I love Amy
friendly rivalry (which isnt even a gl manhua but the drama is)
and some other one i forgot the name of but its about an idol group.


Most gl manhua are trash to me idky.

i read webcomics so much like legit whenever im awake im reading them or scrolling on tiktok when im at a brainfog and cant read anymore. I keep putting my other tasks (schoolwork, cleaning, personal goals, even using the bathroom) to the side and just read read read. I really love webcomics and dont want to give them up but im screwing myself and keep procrastinating. Im 17 currently but im about to be 18 and lifes about to get even busier i cant please give advice on how to keep reading webcomics but not hyperfixate on it.

    I was doing the same thing, then I just thought about the people I love and my future self who is gonna curse the current me for not doing her best. Try to always think about your future life, imagine it and see if it's good or not. I always distracted myself with mangas whenever I thought about my life and that was the worst decision, lol

    i have a similar thing lol. you can try erasing your browser history and the automatic fill-in thing in the search bar once you're done reading a few chapters. for me, it's like a reflex to pick up my phone and open the browser. if you make extra steps for yourself (ie you still have to search up mangago, log in, captcha) it kind of helps
