I actually went back and did a little reread after that note in the recent chapter. I totally forgot how horrible her family was, like they went out of their way to make her life miserable. And I also didn't realize that Richard's design has changed. Most of the panels with him used to feel cold and weird and standoffish, but now he seems so lovable, maybe the art is changing to reflect Courtney's feelings about him?
Even though I hate how long it's taking, I appreciate that we're progressively seeing how the image of the ML is changing in the MC's mind. It makes their relationship much easier to digest.
This series is so great but it's biggest problem is that there are so many damn characters and the chapters are so short that I tend to forget who's who (Plus the R19 version switches pronouns around to make it extra confusing). Who is Actaon?
Has Solo always had stars in his eyes when he casts magic? How interesting, I wonder if his connection to the evil mages is closer. I wonder if his organization is actually the ones behind the kids being evil
Yes he has always had the star! And I remember it being mentioned that mages have a star in their eye whenever they use magic. I think it's just not that consistent, or depends? But that theory is actually interesting!
.....But I'm still so confused. Beom proposed in the last chapter of the main story, so they should already be technically engaged. Am I missing something?
Those are promise rings. Dowon gave him one as well StaleStaz
I went back and reread, Dowon was planning to give a promise ring, but Beom gets down on one knee and gives him an engagement ring first (it's not fancy and he made it himself). He even specifies that it is an engagement ring. Unless there was a mistranslation somewhere?

It’s is. Beom is promising to marry Dowon, that’s what promise rings are.
I keep thinking about dropping this but something always pulls me back. At least he's been a jerk from the start, which makes it easier to stomach his control issues, kind of.
