Please can someone tell me why everyone is saying that xinlu supposedly always looked like that an taeui just imagined it?? I thought that ilay and taeui had the same type? And he apperantly fit their types
honestly i don’t get it either… they’re saying tay lost interest in xinlu which is why he doesn’t see him the same as before but i can’t imagine that because lots of characters would describe xinlu as cute and small but i think in the next chapter xinlu mentioned he was always taller than tay but tay never rly noticed (im not 100% sure tho)

i read it somewhere that tay is an unreliable narrator (they call it xinlu filter). i also partly believe that xinlu wants to appeal to tay because he wants his luck, which makes him also act small and cute around tay. later, we found out that he's not like that.
on the other hand, ilay knows what's up (knows who xinlu's really is) and plays along because he finds tay interesting. which is why he said that "i should've let xinlu see me with you and not the other way around..."
that's just my interpretation of it LOL i haven't read the novel yet
