Lately i am having hard time reading any popular smuts because they are always just wild and hot for no reason whatsoever. But why do i find their spicy scenes not only hot but also cute and endearing?
Stoic Ml and Shy Fl is never my favourite dynamic because they are bad at communicating their feelings. But The way they react to each other's expression, observe closely, show concern and affection in their monolouges, trying hard to understand what the other feels and how the other make them feel is so well done. Noa being tsundere but considerate Pania being bashful yet surprisingly courageous. Their dynamic really work because the author put all the tiny details into consideration.
But I’m not sure if I can jump into it without knowing for sure. Is the main character presented as somewhat flawless? Does she excel in her career, relationships, and hobbies? Is the only obstacle in her path other people?
She is flawless in beauty and beauty excels in her career. I would say the one thing that makes this story interesting is that she is the one who makes a mistake in the romantic relationship. It’s not the ML being a jackass, it’s her actions that cause the typical period of separation in their relationship. It is forgivable, imo (and much more forgivable than a toxic ML being borderline abusive), and I think the story is doing a great job of showing her remorse.
Another nice thing about her character is that she does not take bullshit from people. No catty female characters that walk all over her while she is helpless, no horrible family that take advantage of her. Except for being probably the most beautiful person alive (of course lol), I’d say she is realistically capable but just flawed enough for character growth.
I really can't concentrate on Therian's backstory from chapter 55-62
Can anyone shortly explain what happens in those chapter cause I want to know what happens to Elkin and Kaia.
so, therian, when he was a child used to love drawing as compared to his 3 older siblings who used to train for wars, long story short all of his 3 eldest siblings die during war leaving his mother traumatized, she was bit shaken by it and therian couldn't bare to watch his mother act so unstable, so he thought about giving up on drawing and welding sword like his dead siblings and started learning in academy, he got bullied and stuff but he didn't give up, alas after 3 years of training he returns to home and rushes to his mother, but seeing him in uniform made his mother think it was her eldest son (viktor) who died in battlefield, I mean she refused to believe her kids death and throughout the 3 years she completely lost it, so after seeing therian she thought it was viktor, therian felt sad cuz after giving up on everything and training for 3 years likw crazy his mother didn't acknowledge him, so he leaves the house after arguing w his younger twin sister (they argued cuz out of anger he said he wishes to die on battlefield like his siblings so his mother will acknowledge his efforts) anyways, he goes to his uncle who is the main general (?) and fought along w his 3 dead siblings, his uncle gave him 2 options, 1 to stick w him and wait for the work deals to come, which will take, days, weeks or even years and 2 was a mission to spy hildegear's place (kaya), and at the end of this arc he (therian) sends a letter to his twin sister saying he's doing fine
It's very helpful. You explained everything clearly.. In episodic stories, we learn about the main character little by little, while side characters take the spotlight each time. But In serialized stories like this, we usually get to know the main character first, then dive into the others. But this manga flipped that around. So it threw me off i guess.
I can't stand stories where the entire plot hinges on one character. And in this case, it’s her. Not surprising, considering the webtoon is literally named after her. But the way 'everything' has to tie back to the lead? It’s overkill.
The male leads, 2nd ml, villains, her friends, male lead’s friends, her family, male lead’s family, her secretary, male lead’s secretary no one can stop yapping about her. Every one of them is like a walking, talking Serena fan club. It’s like none of these people exist outside of their connection to her. They have no real inner world, no independent motivations, no depth beyond serving as mouthpieces for the author's admiration of their golden goose.
What’s sad is that she actually rocks, and the male lead does too. But all of this is spoiled by the fact that the writer-nim took "tell, not show" to an extreme level.

The starting of the story was rough but as it progress it start to make sense why is everyone keep acting like they do. Anette and Heiner, i was so intrigued by their journey that i keep reading it non stop. Unlike many other historical romance story this captured the horror of the war so well. Our protagonist were not unscratched by the war. They do not have any inhumane power that helped them in the tough situation. That's why you keep desperately hoping for them to come out alive and be at peace throughout. The main character, supporting characters all of them felt so real like i know them. This manga is not just romance but a humble study into human study and character developement.
