Maybe he's actually the guy who had supposedly died that day. Maybe they faked his death and he forgot everything. He has the same scar of a knife too. They say he fled the scene but I'm sure he was transported away from the scene. There's no way he fled in that state, make it make sense. And then they accuse the mc of everything when the kid was indeed safe, he comes from an influential family. These are just my assumptions.
