No no he’s a nice guy. The bet was something along the lines of “whoever can get a girlfriend first and keep her for at least a month wins” so he wanted to beat his friend and asked me if I’d be okay pretending to be his girlfriend lol. We ended up falling in love and actually dating for a few months

Ohh ok then here I go. It wasn't anything grand, I just wanted to say that it's incredibly common in this patriarchal society for men to think they're all that just because they reached a certain economic status and have a pretty younger woman fawning at them in their job.
I don't know if your dad got with his secretary before or after your parents separated, but even if it was after, it's still incredibly unprofessional to go after your juniors in the workplace, a woman who works directly under him, on top of that.
But it happens regularly. That's why it's a trope. In more international companies nowadays it is shameful though, and might lead to getting them demoted/reassigned.
