I think his love for Azuma is genuine and the fact the he chose to be with him is more of a strong thing that just being fated and be together cause of fate
But in this story the only reason why the mcs are together is because Ren happened to have a tragic past and now has a family and doesn't even want to meet the omega
The story is great but it leaves such a bitter feeling of what could had happened
