When I saw the girl with the maid uniform on the cover I was a bit reluctant to read this, but thank god I did. There’s no annoying companions at all. He got himself a maid because he genuinely needed the help, he taught her how to fight and she actually is able to become pretty strong and help out besides doing her maid duties. Plus, he gets himself a boy slave soon after because he needed a stronger fighter to help out as well and he couldn’t afford to form a party with strangers because of the risk of betrayal. He treats all of his companions equally, regardless of their gender. There’s no annoying harem nor ecchi. This is a rare gem
