i think it's cause when he first started scamming jaeyi he was bitter and thought of him as stupid and just another inconvenience in his life, but now after all the genuine affection he's (probably for the first time) received, he's softened and fallen in love with him too :(

i mean i don't think he's ever been in a relationship where he could reach this level of vulnerability -- his previous relationship was just purely toxic, and all the sass he portrayed (while he is just an iconic sassy character in general) was simply to lure/seduce jaeyi, and from what i've seen not really how he'd ENTIRELY act in a healthy genuine relationship. we'll probably get our sassy mooyoung back, but only once he feels comfortable and like he's allowed to act that way with jaeyi again (cause imo, i dont think id be able to act sassy with someone i did wrong)
