i just had to reread this after finishing the spin-off and it's a different kind of experience (in a good way).
for example, when i read the kyoto & 4 gods arc w/ the trio animal youkai fighting together for the first time, i just thought it was pretty cute. but reading it after the spin-off made me think that their synergy and trust in each other is in another level.
