But I just watched little women and the quote “And I’m so sick of people saying that love is just all a woman is fit for.” Just hit so hard her struggling to write while everyone around her is telling her to get married for her stories to have love. Idk if it’s the lack of asexual Shoujo and Josei writers but every fantasy, school life, mystery, drama, historical, with a female lead always has a very dominating story line male lead, for romance or other things. Like they’re so fleshed out just to be reduced to hey I’m gonna marry this clearly over powered male lead with a copy paste personality. Like I know Male centered stories have romance but it feels like a side story line since most of the time the romance is later or it’s about the mc mostly(which I’m not defending since I know the lack of female characters with personality is a scarcity in shounen) I just appreciate the plot focus on the story line not with romance. Of course I’m excluding the romance shounen and harem shounen. Which I can easily filter out. With shoujo it’s much harder. Like idk if they’re being forced to include romance or all writers of shoujo and Josei just have this need for a man in the story.
Like can I get some recs with a female main character who’s focused on their craft doesn’t have an overly dominating story line male lead. And isn’t clearly a fetishy story aimed towards men. Just a female mc and the story. Like I can’t think of one. Also no romance please.
real because I can’t think of a single one! they - shoujo or josei - always have romance tagged as one of the main genres, while shounen most often does not. I mean they are animanga without romance but it is never those two demographics which sucks since shoujo is aimed towards young girls

daughter of a thousand faces is easily my favorite (ongoing) series. the main character isn’t perfect or overly calculating she has real flaws and feels genuinely human. her training arc is also super grounded. there are no time skips or sudden jumps in power. she starts off weak and you really see her struggle and grow. there’s no clear male lead, which i actually like. there are hints of romance imo but nothing is definite yet (still no clue who she might end up with, honestly lmao). if i had to compare her to someone, i’d say she reminds me of katara from atlab.
Yes I’m looking for something like the legend of Kora a shounen like story with a female mc, just minus the romance
i'll definitely look around when i have time! i just wanted to mention that daughter of a thousand faces doesn't contain any romance or implied romance. i initially thought there might be some because of a few comments i saw, but it turns out it's just speculation. i'll see if i can find something for you, though!

Basically the uke has this stalker that breaks into his house that does the boombayah, the sex, the ya know to him while he’s sleeping/half asleep. The seme is a weird stalker guy who breaks into his house to touch him and take care of him like does his laundry and cleans his house while he violates the uke. The uke doesn’t know who the Seme is at first.
The Mc is a novel writer and his horror stories basically come to life in certain rooms in his building ex monsters haunting in a room, I think it was either a bromance or a bl. I just know there was another male character.
Is there any bl with something other then romance and drama between the two leads, like something with plot and substance to it that if there was no romance it would still be a pretty good story, like blood bank, [switch], Komatta Toki Ni Wa Hoshi Ni Kike!, silver diamond …etc…

Then another couple was the plant that liked this human idol, he was a good singer so he came on the show his fav idol was on. the human idol found out he wasn’t human because the plant transformed when he got embarrassed, then they fell in love. The humans brother was in the show who was roommates with the plant.
