I've seen a few comments in eleceed Tiktok hating on jiyoung (I mean, that's to be expected since people hate it when the mc has a love interest. I agree to some extent, as long as she doesn't get in the way of the mc) and calling her a GROOMER.... How is she a groomer?? I don't think her age has ever been revealed, the speculation is that she's to be around 18-19 at the beginning, and jiwoo is like 17 at that time... Not only that, she literally did not advance or flirt with him at all. All she ever does is just blush whenever jiwoo compliments her outfits, and then bring them(jiwoo and his friends) snacks. That's literally it.
i call it the internalised misogynism effect, any time a female character is present in an action story people would go to length to degrade her. also happens when a women get b/w a mlm relationship.
True. Honestly, as long as she isn't annoying by getting in the way of the mc, I'm fine with it. Same with the fl of solo leveling, I love that woman. But I still can't understand how jiyoung is a groomer... They literally learn a word and run with it.
We need more well developed female characters :C they are always done wrong by making them so obnoxiously annoying.. like why does she have to be obsessed with the mc?? Why does she have to be a Mary sue?? We need badass female characters, and eleceed does it so well.

Okay so this is kinda a rant but it always bothered me how in some manhwas with a plot that the mc is the unfavored child blah blah and the favorite child either has no idea, is aware but doesn't say anything, ORR is aware and literally just tries to befriend the mc while simultaneously enjoying the love they receive from the abusive parents- those characters are ALWAYS defended by readers that "they don't know!", "they didn't want to also be a victim so they stayed quiet!", or "They just want everyone to get along."... Now those defence are valid and all, but what irks me is the fact that almost all manhwa with the same plot like that, the favored child will ALWAYSSS come crying when the abusive parents die or something happens. Like okay I get it they are kids.. but idk I just don't understand how can you defend a character like that??? Especially if they have seen the mc get slapped Infront of them, and then later on they be having tea parties with the mom/dad. It's bizarre to me. If it's realistic since it is true that most likely kids will continue to love those kinds of parents since nothing bad has happened to them.. but idk it gives me a bad taste since they go around telling the mc they love them yadayada but then also love the abusive parents. Idk honestly lol I'm just yapping
