This is a nice mix of like stepmother (atleast at the end ) & northern duke type of trope , it's executed fairly questionably, would've dropped if I read this tired as it's not insanely intriguing but like how others said it has its plotholes but will stick around for the duke (I feel like the literature master typing ts)
