Y'all if your relationship is like theirs, you both need therapy or to not be in a relationship. It's extremely unhealthy to be so jealous of a friend that you lash out at your partner in such a petty way. That's a common manipulation tactic that abusers use to isolate their partners from their friend group. It starts as "don't shake their hand" into "don't hang out with them" into "if you see them again we're done". This is a fictional story yes, but don't be fooled by how the author is glamorizing this level of jealousy. That is not normal
