Maybe it's his complex character setup, that he planned to live his whole life this way by hiding his feelings so that Uke will stay by his side as friends then why didn't you do that?? Why did you kiss him and get together with him?? I don't know, it's just a speculation but I think the reason for the homophobic comments from ML is because he thinks it is not "normal" according to the world. I mean everyone says, including his parents, that if either one of them were a girl they would have been married (which doesn't necessarily mean they are homophobic but it does sound like a man and woman's relationship is normal) and ML wants to act normal. Maybe that is why he threw such comments and tries to control MC's feelings towards men also or (so he thinks). ML consciously tries to act normal, he does NOT want to look unusual according to others, he has built this "normal" personality of himself so people wouldn't notice his unusual behaviour, he doesn't want MC to leave him for his unusual behaviour so he acts like this to be perceived as normal. He haven't yet realised his feelings towards MC, hell he is jealous even about MC's "normal" relationship with a woman even though he thinks he wants MC to settle down and have a family. His subconscious knows he likes MC that is why he is jealous and possessive but he chalked it up as being a good friend. I mean in Ch. 34 he says "There are people like me in this world so I think there will be people who loves same sex". He compares his own abnormality with homosexuality and thinks both are abnormal which is not. So I want him to realise it is normal and ok to love the same sex and this is world is just simply a shitty place. Also I believe if he is not worried about his unusual behaviour he would have realised his feelings long before and would have confessed to MC because I think he doesn't genuinely worries about homosexuality. I believe he won't even care about what people would think if he is not desperate to hide is unusual behaviour.
