To be honest, I think I'll still drop it, regardless of reading chap 90 and being caught up. In my head, it's because the story is a bit weird. I love the concept, but Phil gets on my nerves. I hope it truly ends with the two dad situation, because even if she's close with the brothers, the emperor always technically showed her love this time. He's sincerely apologized, and still considered her his daughter. It's clear he loves her the most, while the magicians just like her because of blood (and of course FL is awesome in that regard), but they believe because she is blood, she should come with them, except Phil had to realize how the emperor truly feels. She's so caught up and bound by the book that she didn't see what was in front of her, waiting this whole time. If it can't be the two dad situation, I choose the emperor. He's won my heart (black hair lover)

you probably wanna keep this one dropped cause she chooses her mage dad in the end. she still sorta contacts the emperor but it’s just letter exchanges. at least she ends up with nasar and ellensia’s original soul returns to her body but yeah i was also lowkey disappointed..

Omg?? Why would she even choose the mage dad? Sure you can say in the past life the true father killed her, but when you think abt it, her mage dad did the same in essence (abandoning her, even though he tried to protect her) but in this one, the emperor tried his absolute hardest to give her love, and truly apologize for his mistakes, and his actions spoke much louder, because she wasn't trying to get something from him (well the ring, but he did other things) but the mage dad and brothers were literally there so she could use them for something. They truly like her because she's blood, but this is like saying blood is thicker than water or something, and that ellensia is the "true" daughter anyway, so the emperor should just be happy. It's bad!!! And I wish they got rid of ellensia instead of returning the original, and that it was a reversal of fates. Jesus this is making my blood pressure skyrocket (╬ ̄皿 ̄)凸

She wasn't actually planning to leave the emperor. She had forgiven him snd was even ready to stay in the palace with him, until she realised the truth.
Do you remember when little philomel went to the emperor's office? Then she heard him say "I wish she would live like a dead mouse and never bother me again, like she doesn't exist". You know the cruel part? He knew she was outside his office, listening. He knew yet he chose to say all those hurtful things deliberately. It truly broke my heart because I've been in the same situation as her. Listening to my parents trash talk about me thinking I'm not there or sleeping. It f*cking hurts to hear it. But what if they knew i was there, or was just pretending to be sleeping and still say those words? Unforgivable. In my case, i don't have a choice. They're my only parents. But philomel has a choice. if you can't remember i'd recommend you to read chapter 3 again. And this time, read that chapter while keeping this in mind that every single word he said, he said it knowing little philomel was listening.
You may have seen these past few chapters, the emperor trying to apologise for something but not being able to say the words. Because he knows what he did was cruel and not something philomel would easily forgive. Once he finally confessed this truth at the end, philomel chose not to stay with him. Why should philomel forgive him? Just because he's changed, and now repeating his mistakes?
Can you imagine what little philomel has been through? Since young someone she thought as her father never even looked at her kindly, let alone say kind words. She was made fun of for not looking like the emperor or empress. How is that her fault?! Her nanny abused her, her maids and knigh were f*cking hippocrates! She craved to have just one meal with the emperor but he never came, even when she studied hard, he never acknowledged her. So the young girl must've thought if she faked illness, he'd at least come see her once. But that too never happened. She was completely neglected. Then she finds a book that depicts her as a villainess and the contents are coming true one by one, how terrified must that little girl be? Out of desperation, to just survive, she pushed herself to the limit. And only then did the emperor start to pay attention to her. Say, did you try this hard for your parents to acknowledge your existence?!
You can drop it if you don't like the ending, but I'm very very happy with the ending. I'm glad she left with her mage dad and brothers. That emperor deserves to be lonely all his life for what he's done. His outcome is actually much better than what i wanted. So much for hating the child because my wife died giving birth to her.

I understand why you feel that way, and why you're saying what you did, however, I don't exactly agree with some parts.

I'm not saying that she should forgive him, I didn't say that once, my main point was that the emperor showed her repeatedly through his actions and words even before she reached adulthood about how sorrowful he was. I'm not saying he has an excuse, but you should know that heartbreak affects people differently. You're assuming he couldn't be regretful about what he said, and like he didn't work a hard to make up for that fact, and step up as a father to her. She doesn't see that at all, she assumes wrongfully that he will suddenly leave her when ellensia comes. My issue with the mage dad and brothers is that it was so abrupt. The way they come in, it's almost like we're expected to believe that because of blood, they're the better candidate, but she really does nothing but use them. I'm not saying they weren't helpful, but it felt like "family meetings" than us or Phil actually getting to know them. I don't believe that so suddenly they swoop in and they're the better candidate. Like I said, I don't believe the emperor dad is absolved of anything, but the mage dad didn't love her real mom. He had no real connection to her, so of course he's not going to feel anything towards her really. It's comparing apples to oranges.

The thing with the emperor, is that he had so much character development, and such a good story where I believe forgiveness (but never forgetting) is the way to go.

I am unsure why you're asking me questions, but I'll answer them just to shut you up. Yes, I indeed can imagine being Phil. In fact, I believe I'm a lot closer to her than you may even believe, except, my parents weren't royalty, I didn't have maids and knights, but I still had to try for my parents' love that I never received. I know what it's like for a parent to intentionally hurt you, to cause you pain, even if you've done nothing. I've never gotten an apology for the pain, and I've never received anything for it. I'm not saying this to be pitiful, and if you so choose to use this as a "I'm sorry, but" then you're terrible. Just letting you know in advance :)

I'm dropping it because I didn't like the ending, I've said that. Why are you trying to give me your own personal opinion? If you don't know how grief can affect a person, say that. With her being younger, the maids and people around her also twisted the stories about her, and how she acted. That book showed her a future. I've never blamed Phil on what happened to her during the chapters, I explained her outcome in the book, and how she acted then. Abuse is never okay, but Phil took the abuse she experienced and harassed ellensia until her death, and THATS what killed her. We don't know if the emperor would have granted her mercy or not, but his (bio) daughter was almost killed by her maid (Phil, and in the book), the exact same daughter whose mom tried to tempt him years ago, and through jealousy switched their babies. Can you imagine that pain, betrayal, and anger? Let's be honest: even if ellensia was in Phil's place in the beginning, would it have been different? Not really, Mia still would have been bullied for "killing her mother" and the emperor would not have looked in her direction. When you think of it that way, he needed to be "snapped" out of that trance, that delusion. That he had to step up and be a father. The original ellensia would not have been strong enough to do so. There's a reason why Phil found the book instead.

I do believe that the mage dad should be in her life, he definitely tries hard right now, but so did the emperor. I'm not saying that the "one thing" he said wasn't terrible, and you shouldn't say that to your daughter, but when you picture the grief he was feeling, he just didn't want the responsibility of a child. He changed because of her change, because she decided to become someone he couldn't look away from. He needed that anchor to snap out of his own self pity.

My main issue was how they presented the mage dad and brothers, that because they're blood they "deserve her more". I don't believe that, as you know, blood can cut deeper than any outsider could. I believe actions speak louder than words, and we've seen the emperor feel remorseful and sorry for his ways, and actively protect her and do better. Not out of guilt (though sure, maybe played a part) but due to his love for his daughter, biological or not.

Anyway, I don't truly care for your opinion, have a wonderful day ^_^
