I loved it, I don't know If this type of bl ( or romance in general ) has a name in which both characters have chemistry ( or are aware of their mutual feelings ) and the relationship progresses in an uncertain but stable way, I have read several of this type, I enjoy them very much. as I said I loved the manga, but if I have go be honest I feel that the story, the characters and the romantic relationship wasn't glued ? It was all very individual, It is as if the continuity between chapters did not exist I don't know how to explain it, just my personal perception.
Now on the topic of family
I like how the story makes clear that family ( blood family in this case ) is something that you have the right to distance yourself from
" Complicated " family relationships are addressed many times from the perspective of a child who did not receive support / was neglected by his family or an older sibling who had to abandon their life to support the family ( both things happen in Rio's family circle ) . And both circumstances can bring ; someone apathetic but who really yearns for love or " the Syndrome of the older sister " , where you feel responsible for the rest ( Rio fit both results lol )

This whole comments section is weird. 61% of people gave this manga 5 stars and 20% gave it 4, 20 people giving negative comments here shouldn't make some of you act the way you are in these comments. Also, some of you need to stop saying “oh, so you like rape?” Every time someone doesn't like "objectively good toxic yaoi", it's gross but especially because this manga isn't even toxic since boundaries were set from the beginning, it's about two adults with different views on relationships, who despite that, still want to stay together and that's why they are having conflicts, pretty common in adult relationships if you ask me
Anyone who reads shojo(smut), hentai, erogames or geicomi and any genre with sex knows that rape is common or a recurring trope. So it being a “yaoi exclusive” trope and that authors are only adding it to compete with yaoi eliminates any autonomy from the author to add things they like or always wanted to add in their stories. The comments are similar to when a woman says she likes fat, hairy men and someone says "This is so gay male of you" as if it was something exclusive of gay men.
The korean gl market operates very different from japanese yuri since the way they sell is different (magazines in which you must maintain an “aesthetic” vs. chapters of series that you can buy individually using tags) but even in the japanese yuri doujinshi market you hardly see sex.
Korean gl doesn’t follow the same structure as japanese yuri, in the last years it has developed in its own thing. So korean gl being mostly nsfw is the reason why you see rape, as many other nsfw author use it in their stories. Eng yuri vn devs I follow add it too for example.
the comments about anatomy being a yaoi thing are also fun but I don’t want to rant more
