I see comments saying its bland but to be honest it's what readers commonly complain about not having in other book. For example the main couple doesn't fight since they work out their problem by talking and not with their bodies, respect for each other and themselves is heavy in their relationship, rather then beat themselves up for the contract not fitting their current state they just MODIFY IT to fit their needs, listen to each others worries, don't take advantage of the other, they have friends around them who don't become a replacement or a "eye opener" when they have problems, stand up for themselves whether the other person is present or not, and more.
For me one thing that sets this book apart from others is their skill to read the other. It's not this 5- 10 chapters of miscommunication but rather 2 days which may be a chapter or 2 of them worrying.
It is on the faster side which makes me sad since it's a good book. It's much better compared to books that lag behind or drag things out for the plot. While the plot is well made it did have plot holes or things that were key driving points that were never discussed again even though they are heavily relevant. A few include: no real insight on the mc backstory even though he is affected by it- including his bestfriend who helped him, why the blood didn't taste right if it wasn't straight from the mc, what was the full detail of the deal between the director and the chairwoman, why the director had beef with his family, etc. I wish we would have had at least this much talked about however this is a book to cleanse the garbage you've been reading not a trilogy disguised as one book.
I give it a 8/10 since while their are holes you can still read it and understand the plot.
