I know it’s more than likely not going in this direction at all lol but I keep thinking about how messed up it would be if Jinwoo WAS a hound, killed his own father for Guwon, and then was so traumatized by it he lost his memory and just has all these flashbacks/dreams about it where he relives it without understanding what’s happening, and all the townspeople are pretending not to know bc they’re scared of what’ll happen if they upset either Jinwoo by jogging his memory or Guwon by turning Jinwoo against him, so Guwon gets close to him to gain his loyalty again and everyone else just goes along with it

Lmao mangago deleted the whole 2nd half of my comment RIP Obviously we don’t know for sure, but it’s definitely heavily implied that Jinwoo killed his father himself, or something really super serious happened and Jinwoo feels either literally or figuratively responsible for his death, given all the dreams/stuff that happens when he’s reminded of the past that’s clearly his brain forcing him away from remembering it… Whatever happened, he was most definitely at least a little messed up in the head in the past And what are the chances really that Guwon himself would show up alone at just the right time and place to save him in the beginning if he didn’t already know too much, and how did he remember where Jinwoo lived if he just happened to be passing through there once before (assuming it’s not just Jinwoo hallucinating lol) when he first found him

ALSO ALSO ALSO,, the bit at the end of the prologue where Guwon introduces himself to Jinwoo and he says that it wasn’t until later that he realized that was just his name… Doc says the hounds borderline worship Guwon in a religious way- Jinwoo has this scary man he’s apparently never met who just bashed someone’s skull in in front of him literally introduce himself as salvation and just fully accepts it??? Old habits die hard mayhaps???
If Dobin doesn’t grow a brain cell soon I am going to lose my mind he’s lucky he’s so cute bc he’s infuriatingly obtuse lmao
