I came back to read the final 20 chapters or so(followed weekly but got busy and just now bingeread it) and honestly it was so damn rushed. Writing all over the place and that promise had no real repercussions. TPN the suffered the weekly schedule; the specials prove the writer can still goddamn write amazing stuff if given the appropriate time.
Emma sacrificing goes against her character; she stopped Ray from doing that during the first arc for fucks sake. Yet, the ending on its own is fine. The buildup is missing. Needed more onscreen Emma debating that 'isnt she doing the same as ray? why is it justified when she does it?' and all that.
Plus Ray became such a yes-man to Emma later on; the writer didn't know what to do with him. Such a shame because I adore him.
Norman's change was a bit too fast and sudden as well; I looked forward to Norman and Emma mind games, but that never really happened.
In the end this story started off super strong, fell off a bit, rised up during Goldy Pond and then slowly came to a crash after Yuugo and Lucas bit the dust. The final arc intrigued me at first; the chapter of Ray going through a distorted Grace Field? Amazing.
I'll have to admit that the shot of Emma thinking of all they lost made me a little emotional. I was really attached to Yuugo and Lucas. But despite all, their ending was the best. They were never destinied to survive and that's okay.
This is one manga I'll never forget and it saddens me that the anime is skipping over so much that made this manga memorable to me. No Yuugo in the anime is a goddamn crime. And if the anime makes him survive in the end I'll be annoyed because despite how much I love him his end was fitting.
The ending carries a bitter sweet tone to me. Sure, she has Emma's body, but without her memories things will never be the same.
The Emma we all knew died and will never come back.
Ok so I was in a comic store and they had a small manga section. I didn't have the money to buy it, but I had a shounen ai manga in my hands and flipped through it quickly. I forgot the name so maybe someone can help out-!
-I swear blue or something was in the title(no not blue sky complex)
-The cover was super blue!
-One blackhaired guy and he was a little chubby; he was gay
-The other dude was popular in school kindof; typical handsome guy
-High school setting
-summary went a little like the blackhair guy is gay and the other became interested/curious
-Their height difference wasn't that big
-The artstyle was pretty soft
(obviously it is licensed in english)
The art looked super cute and I regret that my phone died/I forgot to write down name nooo- I can't find it anywhere so if anyone can help me out it would be amazing ><
(I know it sounds a little generic but??)
So beautiful... I didn't expect to cry but here we are.
I'll be buying a physical copy of the localised manga to support the author ~
