
Ppl agreeing with the dad in the comments are scarring me. That's a really transactional way to see marriage, it implies that if you want to get married you have to look for someone richer than you.
At least in my culture you don't have to "add up" to get have a stable and fulfilment relationship, having different carrier goals shouldn't interfere in your love life.
Also using his sales as metric to his ability to be a good husband is FUCKING INSANE. It is good for the plot but please don't have this kind of thoughts outside fiction
