It did change, it has had various changes throughout the series. I think it improved though, there was a point where the art quality dropped so much it was painful.

I'm just gonna quote the novel because I can't do it justice for how gay it is if I don't

And at some point, Shinar asked Enkrid if sparing with her was the most fun, and his platoon got jealous. And there was a thing (I don't remember what exactly happed) where Krais was thinking how the most important things to him were his life, money, and then Enkrid, which was hilarious.
And this is just from the specific chapters that I could remember, but oh boy is there a lot more.
This is HILARIOUS I love it so much!! Thank you for the spoilers, it's getting harder and harder to let the novel marinate
