I'm gay. I blossomed with the idea of being straight in order to keep a front with the garrulous, cruel children we call middle schoolers. Although I eschewed I was indeed straight, I couldn't really be happy with myself because it wasn't me; it was a front. So after middle school, I became open with my sexuality.
