Idk I see so many people who hate the Mc but he doesn't seem that bad? Like he slept with a married man and he's sleeping with his dead beat friends crush, but he was essentially blackmailed then manipulated into doing the latter and the married man in question stated the first time they actually went all the way was after his wife cheated on him. Wrongs are wrongs but I feel like the hate is really disproportionate since there's less hate for the murderous psychopath of a seme than there is for the sad pathetic uke who's been taken advantage of and used all his life and is literally just clinging to the only love/affection he's known since his mom died.
Like even his teacher in highschool just wanted to sleep with him. His dad's useless and his stepmom obviously isn't fond of him. Nobody in his life who isn't sleeping with him or interested in sleeping with him shows him affection (except for his friend). But he has a fear of abandonment likely caused by his mom running off then dying of cancer so he never lets anyone close. Despite saying he didn't like or care for his friend and trying to ghost him and get him to leave he still listened to the rambling he claimed to hate, he could have very easily blocked him but despite claiming to not need or want anyone he still cared for the only person at the time who seemed to care for him. Even when the guy he was sleeping with tried to tell at his friend for calling so much he took the phone and listened to his friend talk about his crush.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding or maybe others are but I'm genuinely curious as to why people seem to hate him so much. People usually eat up the broken people just wanting to be loved.
